Eileen has one of the largest responsibilities of any of our team members. She ensures that deadlines are met, both by us and cooperating agents, so that we may provide the smoothest transactions possible to our clients. And unlike most coordinators, Eileen actually licensed with the California Department of Real Estate.
Eileen has been involved in real estate since the early 1992 and been a licensed agent since 1997. She started as a receptionist for Century 21 Action Associates. Shortly thereafter, Eileen was promoted to office manager at Century 21 Yorba Station and Century 21 Chuck Stevens before coming to work at Discovery. In all cases, she has been responsible for personally reviewing each and every one of the office contracts. Over her career, it’s estimated that she has reviewed not hundreds, not thousands, but more like tens of thousands of real estate contracts! Her mistake ratio is outstandingly low, especially given the number of transactions she has been involved in. This alone is not only assurance for us, but also gives clients confidence that the plethora of details in their real estate transaction are being attended to by the very best in the business.
Eileen has an interesting perspective on the value of a Realtor that we just don’t hear often enough. Having been so closely involved in the business for so many years she can accurately testify to the value of a professional Realtor. She says, “It just makes me cringe to see so many people believe that they can hire a cheap or discount Realtor, and they’ll get the same or similar results when some of the stuff these guys pull is just plain scary!” She can tell story after story about consumers who thought they were being penny wise, only to find out later (or never find out at all) that they were pound foolish. She goes on to say that, “The biggest reason many consumers go this dangerous route is due to the misconception that Realtors are overpaid. But if one was to tabulate the hourly wage of a professional Realtor given the extensive number of hours they put into serving their clients, consumers might just find that the local fast food establishment pays better!”
Summing up her involvement in the teams transactions, Eileen will state that her primary objective is to let the agents do what they do best, and that is to be responsive to their clients and sell real estate! She understands that the best salespersons are usually not the most paperwork oriented individuals but feels that the best Realtors need to be aware and smart about the details involved in the purchase strategies, negotiations, contractual terms/conditions, and transaction processes. However, paperwork formalities are best left to eagle eye individuals like herself that specialize in making sure that the I’s are dotted and the T’s are crossed. Both agents and their clients truly appreciate her ability to let them do what they do best!
